Microsoft Copilot Review (2026)
Microsoft's assistant, built into Windows and the Office apps.
Our verdict
The obvious pick if you live in Microsoft 365. The free chat is useful; real value comes when Copilot works inside your own documents.
Visit Microsoft Copilot →Microsoft Copilot's advantage is that it lives where a huge share of work already happens: inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. A free Copilot Chat tier gives everyone a capable web-connected assistant, while paid access, now bundled into Microsoft 365 Premium for individuals at around $19.99, lets it act on your actual files and, for businesses, your organization's data.
The catch is licensing. Microsoft retired the standalone Copilot Pro and folded consumer AI into its Office bundles, and business tiers range from about $21 to $30 per user, so the naming is genuinely confusing. For pure model power without Office you may prefer ChatGPT or Claude, but if your day runs on Microsoft 365, nothing integrates as deeply.
Microsoft Copilot pricing (July 2026)
A free Copilot Chat tier offers AI chat, web search and some image generation, but does not work inside your Office files.

| Free | $0 | Copilot Chat, web search, some images |
